BAS-IP and Hartman Controls Announce Integration to Redefine Building Access Management

BAS-IP, a premier developer of IP intercom systems, and Hartman Controls, a leader in integrated access control platforms, have announced a strategic integration. This partnership combines BAS-IP’s advanced entrance panels with the Odyssey ecosystem, providing a unified, scalable solution for modern residential and commercial buildings.

The core of this integration is the seamless coordination between BAS-IP hardware and the Odyssey platform. By leveraging SIP-based communication and the BAS-IP Open API, the systems work in unison to manage credentials, communication, and security from a single, centralized interface.

The Odyssey system serves as the primary management hub. Security operators can manage residents, doors, and permissions, while the BAS-IP Link platform ensures all configuration data—including SIP parameters and contact directories—is automatically synchronized across the intercom infrastructure.

Main Benefits:

  • Centralized Management – Unified control of access, intercoms, and video within the Odyssey ecosystem.
  • Enhanced Mobility – Residents and staff can receive intercom calls via the HC-Key and HC-Admin mobile apps.
  • Automated Sync – Real-time synchronization of contact books and SIP settings via BAS-IP Open API.
  • Scalable Architecture – A future-proof solution suitable for multi-tenant, commercial, and mixed-use projects.

How the Integration Works:

  1. Registration: The administrator manages credentials and resident data within the Hartman Odyssey platform.
  2. Synchronization: Using the BAS-IP Open API, Odyssey synchronizes SIP accounts and contact directories directly to the entrance panels.
  3. Calling: A visitor selects a name from the BAS-IP panel’s directory. The call is routed through the Odyssey SIP infrastructure.
  4. Communication: Residents or operators receive the call on the HC-Key mobile app, Odyssey desktop software, or fixed workstations.
  5. Access: The door is unlocked remotely through the integrated Odyssey interface, maintaining a secure system of record.

This integration eliminates the “fragmented system” problem, replacing standalone components with a cohesive environment that reduces commissioning time for integrators and improves the daily experience for building occupants.
