URMET Intercom System Comparison
Access control systems, including intercoms, produced by the Italian company Urmet (the company is headquartered in Turin), belong to the category of business and premium class. The above-mentioned company has been an active participant in the security market for a long time – its foundation was held back in 1937. Thirty years later Urmet specialists made the first video door phone.
Under the Urmet brand, a wide variety of access control and property systems is produced, and a separate division, Urmet Domus, is responsible for the production of intercoms. In addition to Urmet, Urmet Group also own intercom brand Golmar (Spain), Miwi (Poland) and Aurine (China). In addition to video intercom systems and related equipment, Urmet Group produces video surveillance systems (CCTV), access control, security and fire alarms, and automation for houses, cottages, industrial and social facilities.

Urmet Domus intercoms are most popular in Italy, France, Britain and the Netherlands. In recent years the popularity of intercoms Urmet began to decline, but its IP system Urmet Ipervoice, as well as a 2-wire system 2voice, are still supported by the manufacturer and supplied for projects. IPerVoice is URMET’s first digital IP intercom system using IP technology for data transmission. IP intercom system provides possibility of using both twisted pair and fiber optic cables, which allows increasing distance between any two devices up to 3 kilometers. The system can use both audio and video ip intercoms, as well as mobile APPs. In short, it is a complete IP intercom system and we were interested to make a comparison with the BAS-IP one.
