BAS-IP and KONE Elevators Integration Enhancement
The BAS-IP team is excited to announce a significant enhancement to the integration with KONE elevators, designed specifically with system integrators and installers in mind. Originally developed for BAS-IP Entrance panels, the integration allowed restricted access to floors and enabled elevator calls directly from the panel interface. Now, this integration has been expanded to the BAS-IP Link software, making deployment, management, and client servicing faster and more flexible than ever.
Streamlined Integration Configuration
Before: Each BAS-IP entrance panel had to be configured individually via its web interface, which could be time-consuming and error-prone in multi-entrance or large-scale projects.
Now: With BAS-IP Link, integrators can manage the configuration centrally. General settings for connecting to the KONE API are set once, while unique settings for individual panels remain adjustable. This centralization reduces installation time, minimizes errors, and makes scaling across multiple buildings or entrances straightforward.
Flexible Operability
Before: Elevator interactions were limited to identifiers entered locally on each panel.
Now: Integrators can initiate interactions using:
- Locally added identifiers
- Identifiers uploaded from the BAS-IP Link software
- Guest passes uploaded from Link software or mobile app
This flexibility allows installers to adapt access management to a variety of real-world scenarios, meeting client-specific requirements quickly and efficiently.
Enhanced User Experience for Your Clients
Residents can now receive real-time push notifications via the Link mobile app about the operational status of KONE elevators. Whether an elevator is under maintenance or back in service, users are kept informed, enhancing satisfaction and reducing complaints. This feature is optional and easily configurable to match each client’s preferences.
Why This Matters
This enhancement is more than just a technical update—it’s a tool for integrators to deliver a better service to clients. By centralizing configuration, simplifying identifier management, and providing optional resident notifications, installers can:
- Cut setup and maintenance time
- Reduce support requests from end users
- Provide a scalable solution for large residential or commercial projects
- Demonstrate value to developers and property owners through improved convenience and transparency
In short, the BAS-IP and KONE integration now allows integrators to work faster, deliver smarter, and offer clients a more modern and reliable access and elevator experience.
