Hikvision Intercom System

What is Hikvision Intercom?

Hikvision was founded in China in 2001 and from the early years of its development focused on video cameras and video surveillance systems (CCTV). In the CCTV world, Hikvision has gone far in the development of both hardware and software. The company is a leader in many countries in video surveillance and is actively developing not only its products, but also branches around the world.

The company began producing Hikvision video intercoms globally in 2014 and since then has changed the second line. The second generation is distinguished by the support of the SIP protocol as well as a clear focus on the Western market, that’s why all panels have a modular structure. That is, to get a call panel with a reader, a camera, and a call keypad, you need to assemble three components together + choose the right mount. This solution is very flexible in terms of cost selection, but installers often get confused about what modules are compatible.

For example, to assemble a call panel similar to BAS-IP AA-12FB, you need to order DS-KD9203-E6.

Hikvision Intercom System Model Range

There are a lot of different devices in the Hikvision intercoms model range, depending on the budget and design. They work not only on door entry panels or indoor monitors, but of course also on the backbone part of the system. The regular release of updates allows you to get new features. Special attention should be paid to a rich assortment of different brackets for your devices. Admittedly, the company works on device designs and was awarded the best design award in 2019.

Hikvision IP intercoms are designed for communication and access control in large residential and commercial settings.

Hikvision 2 Wire Intercom

Hikvision’s 2-wire line of intercoms, on the other hand, is designed for small projects such as private houses or apartments that do not have a centralized intercom system. Two-wire intercoms have a small number of functions and can hardly be seriously considered in this comparison.

We are closely following the latest from Hikvision – a company worthy of competing with it and inspired by its achievements.

Nevertheless, the purpose of our study is a deeper analysis of systems, so we will consider the main differences between BAS-IP and HIKVISION intercom systems.
