Intercom is Moving to Link: What Does This Mean for You?
Starting March 4, 2025, the Intercom app for Android will no longer be available on the Google Play Store. However, the web version and the iOS app will continue to function without any changes, and Intercom servers will remain active to ensure stability and access to your data until server support ends.
We invite you to transition to Link – a powerful solution designed for your convenience. The platform offers advanced management capabilities, a high level of stability, and security that meets the latest industry standards.
We understand that this change may raise questions, so we have prepared detailed instructions and comprehensive support to make the transition as smooth and effortless as possible.
Why Are We Making This Change?
Our decision to transition to Link is driven by the need to provide you with better service quality and modern tools for device management. The Intercom app for Android is outdated and no longer meets current requirements. Instead of updating the old platform, we chose to develop a more powerful and user-friendly solution that will set a new standard for your convenience.
What Is Link?
Link is a platform designed for those who value convenience and reliability. It replaces Intercom and offers more features, an improved design, and long-term support. Here’s what you can expect from Link:
- Redesigned Interface: A simple and intuitive design created for a seamless user experience.
- Support for Modern Devices: Link is compatible with the latest operating systems and integrates with new technologies.
- Advanced Features: Access management, security, and flexible device configuration—all available on the new platform.
- Stability and Reliability: Built to handle high loads, ensuring uninterrupted performance.
How Will the Transition Take Place?
We have made the transition process as seamless as possible. Active Intercom accounts will be automatically migrated to the Link platform, and users will receive Basic-version licenses equal to the number of SIP numbers in their account. The process is designed to minimize any potential difficulties while ensuring access to all available platform features.
For property owners, the transition will be straightforward:
- Set up your account and connect intercom devices to the server.
- Fill out a table with resident information and upload it to the system.
- The system will handle the rest: it will create user accounts, send out invitations, configure intercom devices, and grant access to the platform.
Residents will only need to complete registration via the invitation – and they can start using the new system right away.
What the Platform Will Do:
- Automatically link user accounts to their devices and provide access to the service.
- Configure intercom integration, including phone book synchronization if needed.
- Process data and issue Basic-version licenses for Link.
For more complex cases, such as working with older devices or manually transferring data, we have developed tools to help partners streamline the process.
What Are the Benefits for You?
To make the transition as beneficial as possible, the Link platform offers a wide range of new features:
- Access Management:
Full control over building access via the mobile app, including remote door unlocking and guest access management. - Enhanced Interaction Capabilities:
Integration with modern devices like Apple Watch and Siri, family event management, and room booking through the platform. - Logging and Monitoring:
View call history, access logs, and manage schedules and restrictions. - Modularity and Customization:
Create spaces for residential and commercial properties, configure flexible call forwarding rules, and manage phone directories. - Advanced Telephony Features:
Support for SIP trunks, virtual numbers, and softphone functionality for seamless communication. - Security Tools:
Integration with emergency call devices, elevator access management, and control over restricted areas.
How Will We Notify Users?
We have prepared a series of notifications to guide you through every stage of the transition:
- Informational Emails: You will receive emails detailing the changes, transition timeline, Link benefits, and step-by-step migration instructions.
- Registration Invitations: After data migration, you will receive an invitation to complete your registration on the new platform.
- Reminders: If needed, we will send reminders to ensure you complete the setup and start using Link without delays.
