Seamless Integration: How Accrete Technology Enhanced Their Smart Community App with BAS-IP Mobile Link SDK

In today’s rapidly evolving smart living landscape, seamless integration between platforms is a necessity rather than a luxury. A recent collaboration between BAS-IP and Accrete Technology showcases how a powerful SDK can enable advanced intercom functionality within an already robust mobile ecosystem.

About the Partner: Accrete Technology

Accrete Technology (S) P/L is a leading Singapore-based company, established in 2008, specializing in intelligent IoT solutions for smart communities – from access control and facility booking to secure payment gateways. With over 30 years of experience in ELV technologies, Accrete combines innovation, security, and sustainability to create a comfortable and reliable environment for residents and management alike. Their platform, hosted on Microsoft Azure, delivers high cyber resilience and intuitive interaction, making integration seamless and dependable.

Accrete’s “Smart Community App” serves as an all-in-one platform for residential complexes, providing a centralized interface for security management, resident engagement, facility bookings, visitor management, announcements, and even environmental monitoring, like water and energy consumption.

The application is white-labeled and branded based on each property or condo project, offering a highly tailored experience for residents while maintaining a unified backend infrastructure.

Integration Overview: BAS-IP Mobile Link SDK

To expand the functionality of their platform, Accrete Technology integrated the BAS-IP Mobile Link SDK—a developer toolkit that includes ready-made frameworks, strongly typed API calls, and sample implementations. The integration focused on two key SDK components:

  1. Mobile Link SDK Core

This component was used to implement:

  • User registration and authorization on the BAS-IP Link server
  • Retrieval of user profile and available connected devices
  • One-tap door unlock button in the mobile app
  • Elevator call button, enabling users to call the lift to their home floor directly from the app

This module added advanced communication features, such as:

  • Audio and video calls from BAS-IP intercoms to the mobile device
  • Push notifications for incoming intercom calls
  • DTMF-based door unlocking during an active call

Architecture of the Final Solution

The integration was designed to be scalable and fully under the control of the partner. The architecture consists of:

  • BAS-IP Intercom devices and elevator controllers
  • A self-hosted BAS-IP Link Server maintained by Accrete Technology
  • A Push Server for real-time call forwarding
  • Accrete’s own smart community mobile app, available on iOS and Android

This setup ensured a high degree of data control, performance reliability, and customization flexibility.

Real Impact on End Users

For residents, the result is a unified smart living experience within a single app interface:

  • Answer intercom calls on the go
  • Unlock doors during an intercom call without needing separate access control systems
  • Enjoy frictionless elevator access tied to their unit credentials
  • Maintain high security without compromising usability

The integration removed the need for juggling multiple apps or systems and brought true convenience and automation to daily living.

Why BAS-IP SDK?

This case perfectly illustrates the flexibility and power of the BAS-IP Mobile Link SDK. It allowed Accrete Technology to add advanced intercom and access control capabilities without starting from scratch or building complex backend logic.

Conclusion

The BAS-IP Mobile Link SDK enabled our partner, Accrete Technology, to seamlessly and efficiently enhance their existing mobile application with valuable intercom features. Without the need to develop these components from the ground up, they successfully integrated robust BAS-IP solutions, resulting in a smooth user experience and a more feature-rich smart community app.
