BAS-IP and Milestone XProtect Integration: Visual Control and Access Management in a Single Interface
We are thrilled to announce the successful implementation and official verification of a new integration plugin that connects BAS-IP door entry panels with the Milestone XProtect Video Management Software (VMS). This solution was developed by our integration partner, PJH Technologies.
When a visitor arrives at an entrance, security operators need to quickly see who is there, check the surrounding area, and decide whether to open the door. Finding the right camera and switching between applications can slow down this routine task.
The new plugin from PJH Technologies solves this by bringing live video and entrance controls directly into the XProtect Smart Client interface.
How it works: The workflow is straightforward. When a visitor calls from a BAS-IP panel, a pop-up automatically appears in the Smart Client displaying the intercom name, connection time, and live views from the cameras linked to that entrance. While speaking to the visitor, the operator can open the connected door or gate and hang up the call directly from the pop-up.
Additionally, the integration allows cameras to be associated with each intercom to give operators a wider view of the entrance (such as a vehicle gate). It also enables call events and intercom control to be automated through the XProtect Rule Engine.
